Easter Deco Mesh Wreath with Video Tutorial

I've tried staying away from getting into anymore crafting projects that would require that I purchase all new supplies (because I can't purchase just a few) in view of the fact that I have a boat load of crafting supplies in my craft room already.  (insert BUT HERE) ~  the true craft junkie comes out in me when my sister talked me into making her one of these Deco Mesh wreaths for her home that I will show another time.  Deco Mesh has been around for a little time but appears to be the rage in crafting decor right now…..(insert sigh) Yes, I caught the bug and had to make one for me too.  In Spring and Easter colors of course.

I hope you like it as much as I do
….and I have a SURPRISE for you all -- yes,  video with picture tutorial.  I know I've been slacking in the video tutorials lately -- but please know that I have not given them up….stay tuned.

Watch below or Watch HERE on YouTube

Supplies used in this project:
16" wreath form
Deco Mesh ~ pink/white and turquoise (long rolls)
yellow burlap
pink chevron burlap ribbon
pink and turquoise glitter tulle
various ribbons and ric rack
chenille stems
wooden Easter Egg (from Hobby Lobby)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a FABULOUS week-end.  :)

{Burlap Valentine Heart Wreath}

Burlap decor is everywhere right now and seems to be the trend that will last for sometime.  I've always loved burlap because it reminds me of being a bit rustic and country and I've most often seen it in the brown kraft color -- not the case anymore as there is lots of colors of burlap to choose from.  Over the years I've created a few projects with burlap but never thought about some of the ideas I see floating around pinterest -- which leads me to one of my favorite craft shows on My Craft Channel.  Inspired by Pinterest with Lori Allred.  It's my favorite show and I can't wait to see what Lori creates next.

On a recent episode she created a wreath using white burlap -- and I was inspired instantly!  O.M.G. --  I just had to make one.  I {love} the messy look of this wreath and it was rather simple to put together.  (click here to see my inspiration)

I'd love to hear your feedback! :)

BOO Banner Tutorial!

When I created my Coffee Filter wreath here awhile back I left it plain and chose not to add a bunch of embellishments because I knew I wanted to cutesy it up for the seasons and attach seasonal decor just like this "BOO Banner" I created for Halloween.  I love how it turned out and it was fairly easy to create.

{Coffee Filter Wreath} Tutorial

Coffee Filter Wreaths have been around for quite a while but I've never taken the time to make one for myself.  I love when I can take one thing and make something else out of it -- so this project is right up my "crafty alley".  When I was looking for a "base" for my project I thought of so many things I could use including a straw wreath form, styrofoam circle, form board, cardboard -- just about anything that I could attach the filters to.  When I decided to work on this project I was not making an extra trip to the store for a straw wreath so I looked around the house to see what my crafty hands could use.  I had this pool noodle on my "to recycle" pile because I purchased it for Spencer's Marble Race Track and when I cut it in the middle I got a little off center so the marbles wouldn't roll right down the middle of the tube -- {sigh} so I couldn't use this one for his marble race track.  Anyhoo's -- I knew I'd find a use for it someday -- (that's why you see the clear tape around the form to put it back together ☺).

Right now -- I have it just as a plain wreath -- but I have big plans to dress it up with burlap flowers, rosettes, felt flowers and more.  It's the PERFECT addition to my glass hutch that I have in our dining room.

I used tulle as a hanger -- its light weight and becomes almost invisible.
