My First BIA Book

Here is my first attempt at a BIA (Bind It All) Book. It was a lot of fun to make but very time consuming for me since it was my first time.

The paper is something I got from either HL or Michael's. The flower is from Hello Kitty Greetings and I ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder, the "V" is from Story book also run through my Cuttlebug using Swiss Dots. The ribbon is from Michael's. Inside is blank cardstock for special messages, inspirations quotes or whatever she wants. I made it for my MIL. Leave me a comment and let me know you stopped by. Ü

I wrapped it up in tissue paper and put it in this brown bag which I decorated too.

I just trimmed off the top edge with my pinking sheers and added some ribbon and a small decorated scalloped circle which I cut out using my cricut. I used my mini monograms cartridge for both circles - one on shadow. The flower stamp is by Studo G which I found at Joann's. I added a green brad for the center of the flower.
I had alot of fun with this gift. Ü
I think the pink paperclip just rounds out the whole project. hehehe!

Giddy Up Cowboy Layout including Some Materials Used

Cowboy Paper from this stack below....

All About Boys DCWV stack

This is my latest project.....see below for some of the things I used to complete it.

I started out with the Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut Cartridge, for the cowboy, rope, and stick horse. Added some stickles (glitter glue) to add pizzaz. The Peachy Keen stamp was used for his sweet little face.

Here are some miscellaneous supplies I used including my paper trimmer, ATG (adhesive tape gun) and my pictures......

Cuttlebug with A & B plates as well as Tiny Bubbles embossing folder. I used this folder for the krafty brown top layer words to give it some texture. Love my Cuttlebug. Ü

Tiny Bubbles Embossing "Cowboy" Word
"Cowboy" word is cut out on my cricut using the Sesame Street Font ~ Sunny Daze Brown Krafty cardstock (super cute)
Shadow of Dark Brown cardstock using ~ Sunny Daze function key on Shadow also on the Sesame Street Friends cartridge. Turns out very nice.

A little Birthday "Bling"

Hi everyone.....I created several of these cute cards as Thank Yous for some of my gal pals who remembered my recent birthday. I love how they turned out. This is a Penny Black graphic and I layered it on cardstock and pattern paper. I even ran the green cardstock through my cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder for some added texture. My favorite part is the "bling" on the cake, her bracelet and purse using hot pink stickles (glitter glue). To round out the card I used small flower brads in each corner. I will write a special message inside to thank each friend individually.

Thanks for looking....

Meet Craft Junkie Too's Family

Happy Birthday to me, Craft Junkie Too!

Today is my birthday and I couldn't think of a better way to spend the day than with my family.

Here is my hubby Ricky, our oldest Skyler (12) and our toddler Spencer (2 1/2).

We decided to go to Houston Zoo which is about a little over an hour from home and decided to pose for a family picture before heading inside the gate. The tour of the zoo started out well but as we traveled around looking at the different animals we were very disappointed because so many of them were napping. Yes, asleep in a corner or sprawled out under the tree. I don't know if it was the humidity, because it was Saturday or they just didn't want to be bothered but the lions, tigers, bears and several cats were napping. :( We did get to see the elephants, zebras and giraffes up and about so the toddler was a happy camper. Anyhoo's about 2 hours into our walk around the zoo it started pouring down raining and it was not a shower - it was a "find cover and get out of the soaking rain" kind of downpour. Yes, we all got soaked but laughed so hard. Typical Texas weather.....one moment it's sunshining and the next your finding cover for rain. I tried to keep a very positive attitude about the whole not so good experience at the zoo day -and kept thinking that I could be stuck at work dealing with snotty people. HA! That thought was all it took. Needless to say this cut our day short and we decided to head on home. We did stop off at one of my favorite restaurants, The Texas Roadhouse for a delicious lunch/supper combo. After that DH was even nice enough to offer to sit in the suburban with the toddler while I slipped into Michael's and shopped a bit. Once I returned to the car - he did remind me that I was in there for over an hour. double HA!
Yes, Craft Junkie Too had a great birthday. I can't wait to pull out my cricut animal kingdom cartridge and scrapbook the memories.

Tracy

SIL Card

Hello, my friends. I hope that you are having a wonderful week.

I created this super cute card for my SIL (sister-in-law) as a Thank You for something special she recently did for me. I am so fortunate to have a wonderful family of in-laws and know that everyone can not say that.

For this card I started with some basic bright blue card stock.
* The pattern paper is from the DCWV Spring Stack
* The paper punch is Friskars Treading Water border punch
* The clip art is Penny Black design
* Flower with rose brad in the center
* Added goodies include blue skittles set in stickles.

Mothers Day Card

Happy Friday evening friends....

Here is the Mothers Day card I made for my mother-in-law. It took me over an hour to complete because I made it up as I went along. Sheeeew...I hope I get faster. HA!
I went shopping today and picked up some of these paper flowers in different colors and different colored brads at Michaels. I really like how the flowers "pop" off the card. I used my Cricut Opposites Attract cartridge for the Happy Mothers Day and Pooh Font cartridge for the 2009. The embossing folder I used was Cuttlebug's Bloom Dots. I hope she likes it......Ü

Hugs,
Tracy

Edited to add....on the inside of the card each of us (me, dh and the boys) wrote a special note to her to say "Thanks for all you do". I thought this would be a special touch that she would enjoy instead of just signing our names.....I have one on the drawing board (or should I say cricut mat) for my mom too. Ü

Craft Junkie Too's Gift Bag Storage Space

I hope you don't mind 2 posts in one night.....Ü

Here are just a few of my storage ideas that work for me. I am true to my name.....no matter how much I try to organize my things - it's a craft room and as my little sign on my wall says
"I'm Crafty...You can't expect me to be neat too!" HA!

Anyhoo's - I am fortunate to have a craft room and I will take pictures of it for you one day too - but like my husband says - If I give you an inch you take a mile...meaning that if there is space available I figure out how to use it to benefit me. I purchased the over the door wire shoe rack from Wal-Mart and this is what I use to hang my gift bags on. I know it doesn't look very (from the picture).... organized - but I promise it is. I have my solid bag colors together and my themed/holiday bags. Christmas bags are in a whole tub all by themselves under my bed. For birthdays and other special occassions I love brown kraft and white bags as well as gingham so I use lots of those. Behind the rack I have another over the door plastic shoe rack (I picked it up for 5 bucks at Wal-Greens) and this is what I use to put my tissue paper in. Each pocket stores one or several packs of tissue and I can see at a glance what I want to use. Anyhoo's - these first few pictures are ones of my gift bag and tissue storage unit. I hope that it gives someone else ideas who may be limited on space. Check back soon as I will be posting more pictures of my storage space and craft room including my ribbon & paint storage racks. Sometimes when you have oranges - you make orange juice and I just love my crafting space. Ü

Preschool Christmas Lay-out

Hi friends,

No, you don't have to look at your calendar. I know it's only May but I met with my toddlers pre-school teacher on Monday for an end of school parent teacher conference and she gave me these pictures of him and his school friends from last Christmas. They are the cutest. I couldn't wait to do a layout with them and put them in my scrapbook.

  • Friends Forever ~ Makin' the Grade
  • Christmas Tree ~ Christmas Cheer
  • embossing folder for Christmas Tree ~ divine swirls using my cuttlebug and highlighted with my white stamp pad
  • Reindeer ~ Doodlecharms
  • embossing folder for reindeer ~ swiss dots using my cuttlebug

I just love how it turned out.....

Hugs,
Tracy

"It's Your Day" Dylan! Scrapbook Lay-out

Here is a layout I completed to capture the memories of my nephew Dylan's 1st Holy Communion.

Cricut Cartridges Used:
  • It's Your Day ~ George
  • Dylan ~ All Mixed Up
  • Family ~ Alphalicious
  • Wine Cup ~ My World
  • Vine ~ Zooballoo
  • Cross ~ Indie Art
The grapes are a circle hole punch.

I am very please at how this layout turned out.....

Now, onto the fun eating part....
I am NOT a cake baker but gave this one a shot...and made his cake for his party. Sheeewwww.... it was time consuming and fun to make. On the bottom layer I made it 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 white. On the top layer I baked a 9 x 13" and using cardstock template I scored the cake with a toothpick and then cut around the cup with a serated knife. I iced it in differnt colors, used skittles for the "jewels". I used fondant for the very first time (name, date, the grapes, vine and leaves) ~ all I can say is someone like it because there was only a very small piece left at the end of the party. HA! Ü
This is actually 3 cakes (2 1/2 if you count the scoring of the cup) ~ this picture is deceiving - this was a big cake. Yummo!

Hugs everyone,

Tracy
