{Princess Book} and Give-away

For my twin niece's birthday I created them each several personalized items including stickers and labels for their school books and folders or just to put them on whatever they wanted to.  I also created them each a book (you see below) to draw pictures, color or journal and using simple supplies like copy paper and card stock and put it together using my GBC BindMate Plastic Comb Binding Machine.  I purchased this little gadget several years ago at Office Max.  I love having it as part of my crafting supplies because I can easily pull it out to bind a quick book using the comb binders.  Yes, I'm a gadget junkie too.  :)

For the adorable graphics on the front cover of the book I used my super favorite Scrappin' Doodles.  

Inside the book is blank pages just ready for drawing, writing or coloring.  I used 8 1/2" x 11" card stock for front and back covers and regular 8 1/2" x 11" copier paper for the inside book.  

I tied scraps of ribbon on the comb binding for added color.

I received so much positive feedback from my Positive Messages Journal Project {thank you} from Friday night's Pink-alicious Blog Hop and I had so many comments and personal messages from those interested in my first journal entry on the first page of "30 things to stop doing to Yourself" (you could only see the first 15 in the photo) that I'd thought I'd share the source and the rest of them with all of you.

Alright….let's start….

The theme is all about "new" and "fresh" ideas for the new year.  You're in for a real treat from the entire design team, for sure!  You'll see lots of fabulous projects!!

For me.

As I begin almost every other year -- this year was no different.  I promise myself to get more organized, be a better person, mom and wife.  This year I thought I'd make me a little journaling notebook to keep "track" of various tips, inspiration, words of wisdom, or ideas that will help me reach or keep these goals.  You know….all of those words of wisdom from facebook, pinterest, other blogs…etc. that I run across.

{ Altered Journals } for Teacher's Gifts

I've been wanting to play around with some altered journals for sometime now -- I see so many cute designs and almost everyone makes them look so super simple -- so when I found these I knew I would give it a try.  I found the journals at Family Dollar (love that store), the flap (where the name is) has a "magnet" closure - super simple to use.  It then opens like a book with lots of pages with lines inside.  


I made these for Spencer's new pre-school teacher and classroom aide for him to give as a gift on the first day of school.  Just as a "welcome and wishing you a great year" kind of gift.  I {love} how they turned out.  


These were purchased (covered) in the designs you see here -- I just added the white vinyl and tags.  :)
