Christian Valentines with Free Printables

I {love} Valentine's Day crafts -- I think it's one of my favorites to plan for.  For my Sunday School kids I found these fun Valentines for their treat bags….and thought I'd share them with you too.

Remember these fun paper catchers.  You fold the paper and ask the person a number, you count that number of times with the folded paper, then read them the special message.

{Shining Jack-o-Lantern) ~ Paper Plate Craft for Sunday School

Happy Sunday!

With this being the Sunday before Halloween we created these paper plate Shining Jack-o-Lanterns to remind us that God shines His light through us.  It was a perfect opportunity to explain to the kids that Halloween is about fun times and use it as a teaching moment.

To give the jack-o-lantern the 3D effect glue or staple each plate backwards (to give sort of a bubble or open area between the plates).

Every year my students love making these Shining Jack-o-lanters. So Fun!

{Candy Corn Poem} Treats

You all know how much I love creating goodies bags and when I picked up a package of Candy Corn from the grocery store I wanted to find something different to make with them.  I "googled" and searched online "Candy Corn Poems" and these Candy Corn Poem Bag Toppers were the very first ones I found.  {love it!}  Even better -- they have a free download where I could print them from my home computer (4 to a page).
Very easy to do and I think there will be perfect for my Sunday School class as well as my friends at work.

A Treat for the Birds ~ Creation Story {God Gives Us Animals}

Happy Sunday CJToo Friends!

If you missed last Sunday's post about sharing some of the simple craft ideas I do with my Kindergarten Sunday School Class you can read about that here.

Today I'm sharing a fun craft you can do with your kids or grandkids that the birds will simply enjoy!

As we continue our lessons on the Story of Creation this week we learn that God Gives Us the Animals to fill the beautiful earth.  At the beginning of Creation we already learned that God created The World, The Sun, Moon & Stars and also divided the world into Land & Sea.  This week we learn that God gave us Animals.  Animals can be soft, furry, tall, short, fat or skinny.  Some animals are our pets at home or we go to visit them at the zoo, beach, farm or other fun places.

Fun Foam Plant Pokes ~ Creation Story {God Gives Us Land}

Happy Sunday everyone!  Today is family day in the Wellmann home and what I love most about Sundays is being able to attend Mass with my family and then teach a Sunday School/CCE (Catholic Continuing Education) class of 10 kindergarteners about God's love.  I've decided to share this with you on Sunday's here at Craft Junkie Too as inspiration to create or share with your children or grandchildren.  Since I teach 5 year olds I look for simple crafts.   I hope you find these simple ideas uplifting.
-------------------
I ♥ being a Kindergarten Sunday School teacher because I really enjoy the lessons that I get to do with the children.  The first six weeks of our kindergarten curriculum consists of the Story of Creation,  each week our lesson includes one of the 6 days it takes for God to create the world. This week we are on Day 4 which is when God Gives Us Land.
I have the children for 1 hour and within that hour we have prayer, lesson, snack and craft.  It takes some planning but I usually feel really good about how we spent our time.
To go along with today's lesson ~ "God Gives Us Land" we created these adorable Plant Pokes to take home.

My New Blog!

Hi everyone -- I wanted to share a new blog I've created to share my {love} of teaching Sunday School to a group of kindergarteners. This blog will be about tips and tricks I've learned, craft ideas, lesson ideas and fun pictures to share. If you teach Sunday School, have small children or want to learn more I hope you'll join me over at Mrs. Wellmann's Sunday School Class.

Here is our first project we will do Sunday morning!

Can you guess which cricut cartridge has the earth land images?  Click here to find out.

I'm always looking for quick, easy and kid friendly crafts to do with my students -- especially those to do with paper plates, brown bags and cotton balls -- click here to share your ideas or to be inspired.
