♥ Video #88 ~ Nuts about U Card ♥

Hi everyone....Happy Thursday April 29, 2010!  15 years ago today me and my honey bunny were married.  Time really does fly because we planned our wedding for over a year and half.  I remember when we told our parents and especially my mom questioned ninety-five???? (we were married in April of 1995) and was basically saying gosh, that seems so far away.  Well, this goes to show us how time does fly because that was 15 years ago today.  Happy Anniversary to my honey bunny.  We are so blessed to have a beautiful family and are so fortunate to receive so many of God's blessings.

Here is a card I made for fun to give to him this morning.  He is used to getting really "serious anniversary" greeting cards from the Hallmark store and was quite surprised to receive a handmade card (in a good way, of course).  LOL

Thanks for looking and for watching my video.  CJToo friends ROCK!

♥ Sunday Share 4.25.10 ♥

Hi everyone and happy week-end (what's left of it, that is).

I thought I'd share a little tips, tricks and stuff I ran across this week and let you know a little about what is coming up this next week.

  • Tammy, Creative Critters continues her cricut training in Chicago with Provocraft. She posted a wonderful tip she learned about transporting the cricut (like for Swarms and Crops). I find this a very valuable tip. Check her post and video out HERE.

  • Weekly Coupons for Hobby Lobby, Michael's, AC Moore and More ~ Click HERE.

  • I just discovered MadebyMomo on YouTube....she is so creative and has wonderful tutorials.  Check out her blog HERE.

  • Robyn, MyPinkStamper will be hosting her 3rd Annual National Scrapbook Day Event on her blog this Saturday May 1st.  She along with her My Pink Designers (and a few extra's too) will be posting video's, challenges and prizes.  The kick off time will be announced this week but we definitely do not want to miss this!  It's a blast!. Click HERE for her blog.

  • CJToo will also be posting a few video's and "stuff" this Saturday too; that's Saturday May 1, 2010.  Not sure what the "stuff" is yet but I will definitely make it fun.  I'll have the chat box open at the top of my blog and you can chit chat with other crafters all day long.  I will be in and out but those who use my chatter's box have a fun time.  It's a great way to meet other crafters and bloggers.  Join me right HERE at CJToo's blog.

  • My CJToo Friends Facebook Page is located HERE.  I post projects and upcoming events there too.  I'd be honored if you'd join my facebook page.

Lastly....

You may have noticed a few additions to my blog here at CraftJunkieToo.  Along the top I have easy tabs to access Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.  I've also included several pages (with tabs) at the top also.  These include:

  • Video List - see a complete listing of all of my video's.

  • CJToo Project Categories - click on a cricut cartridge name and find all of the posts/projects I created with that cartridge.

  • Cricut Cartridge Library - find abbreviations for all cricut cartridges as well as links to each and every one of the cricut cartridges located at www.cricut.com/information.  Super duper cool!

  • Favorite Links - this page is dedicated to all of the buttons and banners for friends and fellow bloggers that have awesome blogs.  Bookmark and follow.  Cool!

  • Shopping Center - this page will have a listing of online shops that offer cricut supplies and/or are scrapbooking related.  Sometimes we hear about these online stores by word of mouth - so just trying to make it a little easier for us.

I am very open and willing to add to any of my pages.  If you'd like for me to add your buttons to my Favorite Links - send me a link to your blog.  If you found an awesme online store that you'd like to share - send me the link.  I'd be happy to include it.

Have a super week everyone and check back for more on National Scrapbooking Day, Saturday May 1, 2010.

♥ Old West 40th Birthday Card ♥

Hi everyone!

My brother is turning the big 4-0 on Sunday and I wanted to make him a special card to help soften the blow LOL!  How fun!

Usually when I am making a card or project for someone I really think about what they are in to and/or what they like.....and this is where I get my inspiration.  My brother and his family are really into horses and my Old West cartridge had just what I was looking for to create a special horse that gave me the rustic feel I was aiming for.  I usually go for the cutesy look with my card projects but wanted a more realistic detail to this card.  I think the jute ribbon pulls the entire card together.

Details:
  • Card - 8 1/2" x 11" - brown kraft folded in half
  • Main layer - pattern paper 3" x 8 1/2"
  • Bottom strip has a hale bale pattern - 1" x 8 1/2"
  • Loopy punch by Martha Stewart for strip of brown with white gel pen stitching lines.

Horse:
  • Old West Cricut cartridge
  • Horse - 4" brown
  • Horse - hair, tail and bridle 4" on layer key - black
  • Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes for mane and tail
  • Eye - black pearl sticker dot
  • white gel pen for accent doodling

Happy Birthday:
  • Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge
  • 2 1/2" - red shadow black-out
  • 2 1/2" - dark brown regular
  • star brad to accent "dot" of "i" in birthday

To finish:
  • Pop Dots for demension of horse and Happy Birthday
  • Jute ribbon wrapped around the inside of the card several times and tied into a bow; secure with glue dot.

Inside of card:
  • 4 0 - cut 2" - Old West cartridge (regular and black shadow)
  • strip of pattern paper on inside
  • white stitched lines are with white gel pen

I appreciate your comments and feedback.

Reactions of "like" and "dislike" are anonymous as well as the "stars" rating for this project ~ thanks for taking the time to let me know what you think.   Ü

Have a super Sunday!
