Video #5 ~ Meet Tracy ~ CraftJunkieToo

Hi, I'm CraftJunkieToo.  Thanks for allowing me to introduce myself and give you a chance to see the face behind the voice on the video's. ÜÜÜ

Who is Craft Junkie Too?

I live in Texas with my  hubby and 2 boys.  By day ~ I am an administrative assistant for a State of Texas facility who provides service to those living with mental disabilities ~ I've been there over 20 years and have worked my way up through the ranks.  By night ~ Craft Junkie Too is a crazy crafter.  I love to paint, create, scrapbook, make cards, and do video tutorials to show you all my style of crafting ~ CJToo style.

How long have I been crafting?

I have been crafting my entire life (it seems).  I was always the creative one in the family and still am Ü.  I get more credit than I really deserve because I couldn't do it without my faith, family and following of God, His word and belief that He will provide to those who are Faithful.

Why do I do this?

Simple! I love to craft, I love to help others and I love to share!  I am fortunate to have a wonderful belief that good things happen to good people.  Be faithful, love your family, love what you do and love God.  Simple as that!

My Cricut Experience:

I purchased the Cricut on a whim.  I was shopping an after Christmas sale in early 2009 and found it at a very reasonable price.  In other words I didn't go to the store to find a Cricut, it found me and CALLED MY NAME.....IT SAID "YOOOO HOOO TAKE ME HOME!  LOL!
That day I bought it with the thought that if I didn't like it I would return it.  WELL, that never happened.  Purchasing the Cricut has opened up a whole new world for me that I just LOVE.  I searched the net and YouTube for help in learning this machine and along the way unlocked a desire to help others through video tutorials.  I am having a blast and thank all of my friends and followers who like my style of crafting.  Yea!

Other interesting "this and that" about Craft Junkie Too:

* My boys are 9 1/2 yrs. apart in age.  We never gave up and are blessed with 2 boys.

* My first craft was crocheting and cross stitch. NOT!  LOL

* I taught myself how to paint.

* I teach Sunday School to very energetic Kindergarteners.

* I live in the same town with my entire family and in-laws.  Yes! Very unusual.

* I am the oldest of 4.

* I am a licensed Cosmetologist but haven't worked in a salon in years.  Love the smell of hair products....(LOL)

* My entire attic looks like Hobby Lobby - my wonderful hubby helped me set it all up.  It is right off of my Scrap Room and very easy to get to.  YEA Me!

* My craft room is now my Scrap Room/Video Room - it's a long skinny room but I LOVE IT!

* I live in Brenham, Texas which is home of the famous Blue Bell Ice Cream.  Both of my brothers and one sister-in-law work there along with many family and friends.  Blue Bell is trucked all across the Lone Star State and has plants in several southern states.

* My favorite quote - "Let Your Conscience Be Your Guide", My Dad.

"When you Change the Way You Look at Things ~ The Things You Look at Will Change" ~ unknown

Added 11/14/09 ~ I've come a long way since making this video.
My confidence is better in making video's; thanks to you!

Video #3 ~ ::Cricut:: How to Number Your Handbook to Match Your Overlay

Hi everyone....

In this video I will show you my system of numbering my Cricut handbook to match my keypad overlay for that Cartridge. I show you both the shape & font cartridge handbooks. This is what works for me. By taking the time to do this for my handbooks this allows me to see at a glance what key I need instead of searching. I can Look, Cut and Create so much faster and it is so much more fun.

Comments and Feedback is always welcome.....thanks for watching and I hope this idea is helpful to someone.

Video #2 ~ Cricut "Storage & Stuff"

Hi everyone.....

I created and uploaded another video for Cricut beginners ~ this is the targeted audience for this video - but I also show you my cricut cartridge storage that works for me.

In this video I explain:

  • the tool kit (and my take on each tool capability)
  • a couple of other tools I use including small tweezers and the spatula
  • my cricut storage set up in my craft room including my cricut cartridge boxes
  • explain the difference between regular cricut cartridges and the cricut solution cartridges
  • my cricut storage for my cricut solution cartridges
If you are new to the cricut, I think you may find this video very helpful to explain a few things. When I was new to the cricut I wanted to find everything I could about "why" this does this and "what stuff do I need" ~ so my intent in this video was to help someone out who is brand new to cricut and may have some of these same questions.
I love my cricut cartridge storage. I view them as my lil' "trophies" as many of them I won at the last minute on Ebay. Very exciting.....Ü During the months of March, April and May I kept the postal service puuuurty busy on Deer Road.....HA!
I'd appreciate any comments or feedback for my video's. I am new and will get better and better. If you have suggestions or requests - I am open to hearing them all and will accommodate if I can.
p.s ~ THANK YOU to all of my friends who have left me comments on the MB and here about my video's - I read each and everyone of them. You're the best online friends a gal can have EVER!
Until next time,
Tracy

All Star Baseball Team Project

This is the project I have been working on for the last week or so. My nephew (and godson) made the 9-year olds All-Star baseball team and I made these wooden baseballs personalized for each all-star player on the team.
They will hang these one the fence when they play their game. The ball is actually the size of a dinner plate as that is what I used as my template. I drew them on 1/2" plywood and my wonderful hubby cut them out on the ban saw. I painted them up and personalized them with each boys name and jersey number. I think they turned out great.

For the Bride to Be.....Card

A friend's daughter is getting married soon and I am invited to her bridal shower this Sunday. I wanted to make a card but didn't quite know what I wanted to make.
I couldn't find any bridal shower things that popped out at me so I decided on a happy couple. I came up with this card and I think it turned out "okay". The crystal stickles really give the brides dress some zing and bling. Stickles is glitter glue found at craft stores. I haven't seen it at Wal-Mart yet - but that doesn't mean they are not there. I love it how it brings your creation to life.

I used the bride and groom off of the Solutions Wedding cartridge. Cut at 3" and then used the shadow feature also.
