==========
I have a dining table that sits up to 8 people (with 2 separate leafs we can take out) -- for many years I had it set up for a seating of 6 but since there is only the 4 of us I recently took out the other leaf and made it a a 4 seater....and a little smaller giving me more room in my Dining Area. Since I had it set for 6 for so many years I have acquired quite a collection of table clothes that fit the larger size table. This year when I pulled out my red/creme table cloth to decorate for 4th of July I was bummed to discover the ends are too long overlapping too much on the ends. drats!! So, I thought...hmmm....what to do??? ![]() |
| My tablecloth is too long on the edges so let's fix that! |
Keeping with my country theme I pulled out some raffia and went to work. I prefer to use the natural raffia (it does comes in several colors) and find its pretty easy to work with. It's a straw sort of fiber and the one I like to use the most I purchase from Hobby Lobby (you can see the package below) it's around 3.99 and don't let the package fool you -- there is ALOT in there. You can also catch it on sale for 50% off so that's better yet!

| Taa...daaa....just gather corner and tie trim off the excess edges. |

Great idea, TFS!
ReplyDeleteHi Tracy,
ReplyDeleteGreat idea... sadly the last time I had a table cloth on my table was probably Christmas!! I have one of those corner booth type tables (with storage under the benches). It's kinda county style all on it's own! Have any ideas to use on a trestle table???
Thanks for the inspiration,
hugs, Cheryl
