Birthday Party Favors ~ #154

Hi everyone!


I was super excited when my sweet friend Kassidy invited me to join her for her Birthday Week going on at her blog ~ Inking It Up Crazy.  It's a week filled with ideas to share any and everything surrounding a birthday.  Click here to see Monday & Tuesday's post as well as check back for later in the week for some more fabulous ideas.  YAY!  I was even more excited to see that my assignment included creating some party favors for today's post.  You all know how much I LOVE creating party favors.  :))) 


My birthday party favors begin with some paper horns (yes, the ones you blow and that can make lots of noise).  I filled them with candy, inserted into a plastic baggie, tied some curly ribbon around the top, added a cute birthday tag, used the cupcake stamp and "Celebrate Today" stamp by My Pink Stamper, Simply Sweet Occasions (click here to see more), and waa laaa....perfect and quick birthday party favors for your next party.

♥ Happy Birthday Cowboy Decorated Gift Bag ♥

Here is the gift bag I created for a friend's son who is celebrating his 2nd birthday party today (Saturday). I just love how it turned out.  I also designed his birthday invitation in Video #98 (click HERE to see that).   I think they go well together.....Ü

Here are the details:

- brown kraft gift bag - hobby lobby (large size) - .99
- white cardstock
- blue vinyl - cricut brand bought at Wal-Mart - cut at 2 inches - pressure 2 - blade 4 (kiss cut)
- cricut cartridge - Old West
- Lettering - HAPPY BIRTHDAY COWBOY (Old West (shadow (white) and regular (blue vinyl) - cut at 2 inches. 
- attach to bag with xyron glue runner (all letters)
- blue bandana ribbon - Hobby Lobby
- red stitch ribbon - Hobby Lobby (tie into a bow or make a bow as you chose)
- cowboy hat - Paper Doll Dress Up 8 1/2 x 11 - fit to page (cut as large as it would on this size)
- brown cardstock for hat - papertreyink.com - good sturdy cardstock Ü
- doodled with white gelly roll pen - PeachyKeenStamps.com
- doodled with fine black sharpie marker around edge of bag ______/ \ ______/ \ ______/ \ (pattern)
- attach cowboy hat to handles of bag with brown jute string - Hobby Lobby

Birthday Bash Project ~ Birthday Gift Bag Project

Take a plain white handle bag and turn it into an awesome project using Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge.  The gift is cut at 8 inches,  I embossed the "lid" of the gift with my Happy Birthday cuttlebug folder and embossing powder.  I also added tulle and odd and end ribbons to give the gift a finishing touch.  The punch for the pink border is Scallop Dot by Martha Stewert.  Love  her stuff!  The Happy Birthday is cut at 2.50 inches from the Sweet Treats cartridge too.  This gift bag will definitely be the best dressed at the party.  Ü

~ Video #69 & #70 - Basic Layering with Sweet Treats Birthday Cake

The Sweet Treats cricut cartridge is packed full of yummy birthday cakes, cupcakes, ice cream varieties and lots more to make your projects a real sweet treat.  In this video tutorial I am showing basic layering with the new cricut owner in mind.  With Christmas directly behind us we have lots of new cricut owners and I know I have some new followers and visitors because you are here trying to learn more about this marvelous machine. 

I selected a yummy birthday cake to show off what you can do with this cartridge. 

To ensure I covered all of the bases I had to put it in 2 parts (YouTube has a policy of video's being under 10 minutes).

Cricut Project ~ Video #26 - Basic Layering with Hello Kitty Greetings Cupcake

Hi everyone - I've had several requests to show some basic layering for those who may be new to layering or need a little refresher. This cupcake is from the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge and is super sweet. There are 4 basic colors and 1 pattern paper I used in this project but you can definitely use what ever you like. Other materials I used in this simple project includes skittles for the cupcake sprinkles and stickles, which is glitter glue. Instead of glueing my skittles I set them inside a dot of stickles glitter glue for the "bond" to the cupcake. The ribbon is from Michael's too.....sorry not sure it has a name.

Video #24 ~ Cowboy Birthday Party Goodie Treat Bags

Creating birthday goodie treat bags are super simple. I start with plain brown lunch bags and transform them into treat bags that the kids will love. You can stamp, paint, draw, color or stencil images. The possibilities are endless. The theme for these goodie treat bags is cowboy, western or rustic but you can adapt this concept to create you own special bags.

In this video I will show you how I created these sweet bags. I hope this inspires you or gives you some additional ideas.

To add a little card - try business cards. They are hassle free, already preforated, easy to create using clip art and fonts from your computer, etc. There are tons of free clip art images out on the web - or use something already on your computer. How about adding your childs hand print or thumb print to the card. Just open up your ink pad, press and stamp. Simple as that.

Video #10 ~ Scrap'nTote Kids Birthday Project

Hi everyone.....in this video I create one of my original Scrap'nTote's for my niece's birthday party. I actually created 2 but show how I did one in this post. This is also my July Week 3 prize drawing ~ the winner will receive an original Scrap'nTote created by me and filled with tons of scrapbooking supplies. A winner will be drawn on Saturday July 25th.
