{Dragonfly} Post-It Note Holder & Card

When my good friend, co-worker, and crafting bestie, Jennifer -- told me she found another job that would be better for her & her family I knew it would be hard to say good-bye…..{sniffle} I'm sooooo sad to see her leave us but excited for her new venture….because I know it's something she really wants. YAY Jen!! 


I knew I'd have to create something very special for her…..and I definitely wanted to create something that incorporated a "dragonfly" because they are her favorite little creatures -- I also wanted to make her a little gift to remind her of "me" every time she looked at it -- hmmm…. so I decided to make her one of these popular acrylic frame Post-it Note holders for her new desk.  :)  If you are not familiar with these little acrylic photo frame Post-it Note holders you can see a variety of them by clicking here.  

These adorable Post-it Note holders make great little gifts, craft show sellers and items you can create for your family or friends.  

Side view = the frame is a 4"x6" clear acrylic photo frame.

I cut pattern paper to fit inside frame.The adorable dragonfly is from Create-a-Critter by Cricut.

Critter face is by Peachy Keen StampsI glued the dragonfly to the paper inside the frame.The "J" is on a 1" scalloped oval punch,
pop up dot on outside of frame to give dimension to the useable holder.
I also added to gems to "bling" up the J.  



Card is 4 1/2 x 5 1/4

For an added touch I punched a small dragonfly on each sheet
of the stack of post-it notes.

I know Jen will LOVE it and definitely worth the extra effort!

I know I'll miss seeing Jen everyday but I also know we will get together as often as we can to craft! woo hooo!!!!

Welcome to the February 2012 edition of the My Pink Stamper's Design Team projects hosted by Robyn, My Pink Stamper.


Today -- our projects are all about using as many My Pink Stamper stamps as we could -- that was a pretty big challenge because Robyn has tons of great ones in her collections.


I decided to create a set of monogrammed cards just to have "on hand" when I need to grab one for a quick gift.  I use lots of little cards to stick in gifts and here and there -- so these are simple and perfect!

As craft bloggers we always try to figure out new projects to share with our wonderful viewers and followers each and every project.  Sometimes it's a little easier than others…..sometimes we are a little "stumped" -- other times the ideas "flow like a river"….right now I'm in a little crafting funk so to say…..

I'm not sure where the inspiration for this project came from -- I can just share with you that it turned out better than I expected!  For real.  I thought about making a project -- hmmm…kind of like a "countdown to valentine's day" thing -- but scratched that.  As I was scanning my craft supplies….I spotted these door hangers in my abundant supply of fun foam and thought "I really needed to do something with all of those hangers -- one day" -- then the light bulb turned on….what could I make out of them for a v-day project????  -- The project below evolved from there.  My first thought was to make one for each of my kids to hang on their bedroom door and maybe "the cupid fairy" (kind of like the tooth fairy and St. Nick) would bring each of them a "goodie" on valentine's day…..slip it in their treat holder that hangs delightfully on their bedroom door and they would be super excited when they woke up on Valentine's Day…..pretty nifty idea, huh? -- 

Here is the idea and you can expand it to make it what you wish….LOL!!

The theme is all about "new" and "fresh" ideas for the new year.  You're in for a real treat from the entire design team, for sure!  You'll see lots of fabulous projects!!

For me.

As I begin almost every other year -- this year was no different.  I promise myself to get more organized, be a better person, mom and wife.  This year I thought I'd make me a little journaling notebook to keep "track" of various tips, inspiration, words of wisdom, or ideas that will help me reach or keep these goals.  You know….all of those words of wisdom from facebook, pinterest, other blogs…etc. that I run across.

My Pink Designers Design Team Day Project - From Your Secret Santa Card

Welcome to the October edition of the My Pink Designers Design Team day hosted by Robyn, My Pink Stamper.  Today the team is creating cards using the Winter Treats & Sayings OR Biggie Christmas stamp sets SO if you are needing a little inspiration to kick of the 2011 holiday season you are in for a treat!

Several years ago, I hosted a Secret Santa gathering at work and it was so- much -fun.  There was about 16 of us so we were able to spread out the spirit.  If you don't know what a Secret Santa is an explanation from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Secret Santa is a Western Christmas tradition, in which members of a group or community are randomly assigned a person to whom they anonymously give a gift. Often practised in workplaces, or amongst large families, participation in it is usually voluntary. It offers a way for many people to give and receive a gift at low cost to those involved.

There are various traditions and ways in which a "Secret Santa" is run. In some variations, as Christmas approaches, names of participants are placed in a hat, and participants draw the name of a person for whom to buy a gift. Along with name submission, each participant may also submit a short wish-list of items from which the gift-giver can choose. There is often a limit to how much can be spent on the present. Presents are then sometimes exchanged anonymously. Many schools and offices do this at Christmas time, often as a cost-saving effort. It usually takes place prior to Christmas because the office and school settings require it. Sometimes people leave hints in cards on desks, others create other special ways to make themselves known. 

For ours….I developed a simple questionnaire that included random questions like favorite snack, candy, scent, holiday season event, collections, favorite places to go out to eat, shop, visit etc.  Then each person drew a questionnaire out of the bucket and that was their person to be the "Secret Santa" for.  Since I was the hostess.  We did set some limits because as you know with every thing you do there is always those who over spend or under spend, over give or don't give enough…..so we all agreed to giving something at least once a week until the week before Christmas then we'd send a little something each day, our Secret Santa's would be revealed at our annual Christmas party for the group.    It was so much fun!!  We really need to do that again……hmmmm….

My Pink Stamper Design Team Day! #173

Welcome to the September edition of the My Pink Stamper Design team day!  If you're not in the Halloween "mood" yet -- I hope this will get you a little inspired.

Today the entire team is making projects using the following Spook-alicous stamp set.

This project also has a color scheme which includes black, orange, green and purple…so here is what I came up with for my project.

My New Blog!

Hi everyone -- I wanted to share a new blog I've created to share my {love} of teaching Sunday School to a group of kindergarteners. This blog will be about tips and tricks I've learned, craft ideas, lesson ideas and fun pictures to share. Personalized Frame for a Baby Gift ~ #170

My hairstylist recently welcomed a new baby boy into her family and when she returns to work after maternity leave I want to give this to her on my first visit back with her.  I wanted to make something personalized and decided on this frame that she can put in his room.  I went with the camouflaged theme because the dad is a hunting fan and I know he can't wait to have his little guy tag along…..I think its adorable!

Getting Ready for St. Patty's Day!
